I finally watched it for the first time a week ago, and liked it a lot. I definitely prefer my cults to be more of the “of personality” type, but it still managed to capture my attention early.
And I’m now officially jealous of Zach Braff. Damn.
Speaking of cults, I saw Once Upon A Time… In Hollywood too. It’s a delight, but I am at the core of its very tightly focused target demographic: aging white men reacting to the inevitability of their demise. (It also helps to be steeped in Tate-LaBianca/Manson lore and the world of spaghetti westerns.) In other words, I wouldn’t blame anyone under 40 for skipping it and watching Reservoir Dogs again.
