He brought up two other girls he has been with who he feels that way about. I sort of kick myself for thinking what we had was a true and special father/daughter relationship.

Why does the existence of a bond with those two girls invalidate your own? I mean, did he say something to suggest that his relationship with you is somehow inferior?
Fathers often have multiple daughters. (Hell, some of us have an extensive brood of ‘em.) Did he mislead you, or is this just the reaction of someone who’d convinced herself she was an only child?
