(Which is now hosted by James Corden) And if you did, did you enjoy watching it? I have a gut feeling that it might be up your alley.

When I first saw this, I read “Craig Kilborn”, and I thought, “No, because I wasn’t a sad, dumb, and slightly angry college freshman in 2002.” My patience for Kilborn ended before his tenure at The Daily Show, and I definitely didn’t follow him to late-night.
But as for Craig F…. to be honest, my primary exposure to him was via The Drew Carey Show, so I only saw bits and pieces of his Late, Late Show tenure via YouTube. I like the guy in principle, but not even Stephen Colbert could seduce me into regularly watching 1+ nightly hours of the same thing Johnny Carson was dishing out in 1979. And Colbert at his height was a fucking genius.
Full disclosure: I did have a short-term thing with David Letterman’s show, back when he was Carson’s heir apparent… what can I say, I was young and dumb enough to still enjoy people throwing watermelons off rooftops for the hell of it, and it was still charming to watch a crank like Dave pretend to give a shit about celebrities.
Oh, and as an aside: The Problem with Jon Stewart? I love you, Jon, but determined, slightly-chastened sincerity isn’t your strong suit.
