I know it’s going to sound kinda dumb, but does a vagina have to be shaved…? In pornos/smut movies they’re always completely shaved and clean, but I was wondering if that even matters… Do guys (or girls for lesbians) really prefer shaved vaginas or pubis ?

The first porn I saw was a copy of Hustler in 1978, purloined from my friend’s older brother, who had no doubt stolen it from aomeone else. It was mysterious and confusing, and the space between every model’s thighs was an untamed wilderness.
By the time I was buying my own magazines in the late ‘80s, the bushes were all landscaped and neat. There was still plenty of coverage, but when girls pulled up their panties, there weren’t errant tufts of curly mess sticking out of leg holes and waistbands.
By the mid-90s, porn girls were down to landing strips over bare mounds. I remember some of my friends initially expressing skepticism at this new look… they felt like a mostly-nude crotch was a little too revealing of the details. (NOTE: I’m pretty sure that these are the same kinds of guys who squirm and leave the room when women start talking about having a uterus.) Personally, I loved it.
And of course today, it’s all smooth, all the time.
So does a girl have to be shaved? Of course not. They need to be shaved, waxed, or lasered if they want my attention, but I’m one guy with particular tastes, and the world is full of not-me. I don’t think I’d suggest anyone go full-on megamuff in 2021, but I doubt a neatly trimmed crotch would be an obstacle for most people.
With that said: “shaved” does not imply “clean”, no more than “unshaven” implies “dirty”. I know you probably didn’t mean it that way, but words have echoes, so it sometimes pays to clarify them.
