Do you think masculinity is weak and fragile?
Masculinity as it is typically constructed in Western culture?
I’m not sure “fragile” is the right word. It’s easy to disrupt and undermine, certainly —I just rewatched an old Robin Williams stand-up routine where he says the best birth control is pointing at a man’s dick and laughing— but it’s just as easy to restore by randomly intimidating or degrading some poor woman on the street.
So I’d say masculinity is like a weed… you can trample it, but it’ll keep growing back.
