What a good girl you are! I’m very pleased with you.
And you’ve discovered an important series of related principles: even when you feel like curling up and disappearing, you can look after yourself in a way that would make me proud. Even when you can’t reach me, you can look to me to find true north. Even when you can’t do your best for yourself, you can still do it for me.
Most people will tell you its weird to live your life for the stranger you worship. And they’ll be right, but missing the point: all worship is weird, and at least your idol knows you exist and wishes you well.
