I get protective if I feel like someone is pressuring someone who belongs to me.
I get jealous if I feel like someone who belongs to me is inviting that pressure.
As for what I do… in the midst of a long-term relationship? Make the earth erupt and the heavens fall. Woe be unto every pretty little Herculaneum in my way.
At the start of a new relationship? Extract her from the situation through an aggressive application of shaming and micromanagement.
