I would be such a good cult member
Watching The Vow about that cult from upstate New York (not the one that became a cutlery company, the one that branded women). At one point they were talking about how the act of branding causes a disassociated state to the one being branded and creates a strong mental bond of being owned and I had to remind myself that this was supposed to be horrifying and not a turn on.

I watched that other doc on this cult and it went into like a more detailed description on the whole branding ceremony. And wow, am I a terrible person for getting turned by it. 🙈
Terrible, yes.
