Indeed. It’s still hard to believe that VerizoTumblr thought breaking an important part of the UI —unique, scannable user icons— and leaving it broken for years was a good idea.
But good on Automattic for finally coming up with a solution… seriously, there’s no telling how much corporate negotiation they had to do with Apple and Stripe to reach this point.
