Thoughts on That 90s Show?

I haven’t started it yet, so I can’t really say much. I loved That 70s Show, and I’m thrilled to see Debra Jo Rupp and Kurtwood Smith working steadily, so I’m hopeful… but I’m not particularly optimistic.

First, I’m not nearly as nostalgic for the ‘90s as I am for the ‘70s, and as an adult who lived through that time period, every little thing they get wrong is going to pop out at me.

Also, it’s impossible to know in advance, but the kids seem… annoying. Best case scenario, I’m gonna be siding with Red a lot.

And then there’s the elephant (not) in the room. I know the old cast of kids just have glorified cameos, so it’s not the end of the world, and Masterson himself isn’t a major loss. But Hyde was the narrative’s glue once Topher Grace abdicated the throne, and it’s weird to think about him being gone.
