Please stop supporting AI :(

Please stop supporting AI 🙁

You might as well say “stop supporting Photoshop”… you’re fighting a battle that was lost before you knew it had commenced.

“AI” is a problem when it lies, either by claiming as original something that was derived, or by deceptively misrepresenting reality. So I’m not going to intentionally reblog deepfakes or “virtual influencers” or six fingered mutant sex goddesses… they’ll slip through now and then, but I’ll zap ‘em when someone points it out.

Other stuff though? I think that this ask was prompted by a reblog of a presumably AI-rotoscoped video, and I’m indifferent to that particular concern. There are After Effects scripts and Resolve plugins that do the same thing without using an ML model, so unless we’re now demanding that a human generate each brush stroke in an animation, I just can’t see getting worked up about it.
