Is the sensation of ‘falling in love’ or ‘being in love’ better?

It takes longer, the older I get. When I was 19, it took a day. When I was 23, it took a week. When I was 48, it took eight months.
And it’s difficult to assign “better” to something like this; the former is a process and the latter is a lifestyle. They demand different things, reward in different ways, and are only loosely connected via the multifaceted and much-abused word “love”.
