Because some girls are pieces of an absent whole, appendages bereft of a body. They function, but lack purpose. They only begin to live when they live for someone else.

You can cook, but cooking only feels meaningful when it winds up on another’s plate. You can clean, but cleaning only seems worthwhile when it makes your world a better place to share. You can work, but working only satisfies when your labor gives birth to something your beloved craves.
