Hm. This made me curious, so I asked the people on Tumblr who know me best: is this a character? How close is the voice on the blog to the real me?
The consensus: they’re very similar. The real me is more patient, I probably laugh a lot more than the blog would lead you to expect, and I tend to meander off-topic when I’m speaking extemporaneously… but mostly, what you read here is what you get in private.
Really, the biggest difference is that almost everything I say on the blog is exactly the right thing, while in real life, I don’t say absolutely perfect things more than two or three times a day, tops.
